Anvil / Calzone Cases’ Guitar Hangar Saves The Gig

Posted on: October 31st, 2013

The Anvil / Calzone Guitar Hangar is now available as an option on all Anvil and Calzone ATA and XLT style instrument cases. For a modest upcharge, you can now turn your road case into a functional guitar or bass stand for stage, studio and display applications. When turned on its side and extended, the Guitar Hangar case forms a sturdy base for the stand, while a folding telescopic handle secures the headstock of your instrument.

Company President Joe Calzone comments, “While we typically strive for – and achieve – quantum leaps in case technology, we also try to give our customers innovative features to make their lives easier. After years of seeing guitarists rest their instruments on chairs and other unsafe spots at gigs. it became obvious to me that our industry standard cases could be adapted into a display medium, and thus far we’ve received some great feedback on the Guitar Hangar.”

With guitars, amplifiers, effects, cables, tuners and more in tow, modern musicians already have enough things to keep track of. Investing in the Anvil / Calzone Guitar Hangar means you’ll never again be stuck at the gig without a guitar stand. Cost for the Guitar Hangar option is $65 installed, or $45 plus shipping if the customer wishes to install the system. All specifications are subject to change without notice.

Calzone / Anvil Cases Acquires Ascot Cases

Posted on: July 12th, 2013

Calzone / Anvil Cases, the industry leader in the manufacture of fabricated cases, announced today that it acquired the assets of Ascot Superior Flight Cases on May 31, 2013. Ascot Cases was founded by Rob Cooksey 32 years ago in Newbury Park, CA, and quickly became a favorite among many industries, including rock n’ roll touring, where his roots ran deep. Cooksey began as a touring roadie and production manager for numerous classic 1970s bands, ultimately becoming Deep Purple’s manager before getting off the road and founding Ascot Cases. He directed his efforts towards providing the touring industry what he felt would survive life on the road. Ascot’s unique ‘one box’ fabrication processes and raw material components assured the company’s products the respect of the touring industry.

Calzone / Anvil President Joe Calzone comments, “The acquisition of Ascot Cases brings another level of protection to Calzone / Anvil product offerings, in support of the touring world, as well as the expanding aerospace, trade show and exhibit markets. Rob also brings a tremendous reputation among tour managers with his ability to deliver products on time and correctly – even under the most challenging delivery requirements. This coincides with our philosophy of exceptional customer service and support.”

Cooksey adds, “I’d like to thank our many exceptional customers who have supported us through the years, and tell them how excited I am to be a part of this team; I’m thrilled the Ascot name will live on through our incorporation.”

Cooksey will remain with the company as the key contact for his customer base in support of sales and designs. The Ascot facility will be relocated into the newly expanded Anvil Case facility in City of Industry, CA. The companies wish to assure all of the loyal Ascot clients that the manufacturing processes and material choices which have set Ascot apart from its competitors will be continued after the move into the Anvil facility. Ascot’s telephone number (805/498-6156) and email (ascotrob@gmail.com) will remain in operation. Please contact Rob Cooksey at 805/498-6156 or Joe Calzone at 203/352-6900 to learn more about the combined companies or to receive a quote on your case requirements.
